Jacob halsne | minneapolis parks foundation | summer 2017
While working with the Minneapolis Parks Foundation, Jake spent most of his appointment researching the Upper Harbor Terminal project and exploring the proposed use of an outdoor amphitheater. Due to the many questions on funding and how different stakeholders and operators work together, Jake created an educational guide containing precedents of similar examples around the US. He examined how to develop an order of operations, how a project like this comes to fruition, and how it is maintained.
Jake's focus was on simple communication techniques to display complicated data in short sentences and careful use of graphics.
These precedents will help inform the design team and assist in the process of bringing the amphitheater to fruition. Toward the end of the summer, he continued developing the Minneapolis Parks Foundation’s Interim Land Management strategies for the north riverfront.
